Stroke, Heart Attack & Cancer Insurance Coverage
Facing a medical emergency can be an intense experience. We offer coverage that helps provide financial support. The TD Critical Illness Recovery Plan provides coverage for the three most common illnesses occurring across all ages in Canada according to Statistics Canada1: stroke, heart attack and life-threatening cancer. TD Critical Illness Recovery Plan provides coverage that can help with financial challenges, so you and your loved ones can focus on your personal health.
Support for what comes after
Dealing with a critical illness is a major life event. It takes a toll on you physically, emotionally and even financially. The TD Critical Illness Recovery Plan recognizes the challenges a critical illness can come with.
For approved claims, TD Critical Illness Recovery Plan provides a tax-free lump sum payment, which can assist with the cost of treatments or provide financial support during recovery if you’re unable to work. Having coverage that addresses these issues can help limit the financial difficulties your family could face if you are diagnosed with life-threatening cancer, a stroke or a heart attack.
Here’s a story that illustrates the challenges that come with critical illness and how coverage can help.
Do more with tax-free lump sum benefits
By choosing TD Critical Illness Insurance, you have access to a tax-free lump sum payment for approved claims that can help assist with some of the costs you or your family may face. This includes expenses like private nursing care, physical therapy, medical equipment and child care.
If your claim has been approved, you can receive up to a $100,000 benefit to use how you see fit.
Premiums paired with your lifestyle
The prospect of suffering from a stroke, heart attack or life-threatening cancer is a reality for some Canadians, and we offer premiums with this in mind. Your premiums are fixed for 10 years, regardless of changes to your age and health, so you can feel comfortable knowing what you pay won’t be subject to unexpected changes.
We also understand the importance of being able to step away if you choose to. You have 30 days from your effective date of coverage, noted in your insurance policy, to review the benefits provided and decide whether or not the coverage meets your needs. If you decide to cancel your coverage during this period, please call TD Life Insurance at 1-888-788-0839, and your insurance policy will be cancelled as of the effective date. If you decide to cancel later, call us at 1-888-788-0839 and, provided no claims have been made, any unearned premiums you may have paid will be refunded.
NOTE: Only the policy owner can request to cancel coverage for an insured person.
